• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a Minitor V that is having issues and I'm seeking advice. It is a 2-channel stored voice pager. On frequency 1 in Monitor F1 mode it will alert if the correct tones go off, but will only stay open for 5 or 6 seconds. Despite it being in Monitor mode if I key up a radio on that frequency, it won't pick it up. If i hold down the squelch/reset button and key up a radio, then you can hear the transmission. In the other frequency, despite the settings being correct, nothing will come through. I've tried playing with the squelch setting but it didn't work.

I did take this codeplug and loaded it onto another Minitor V and it worked fine, so I'm believing that this is a hardware issue and not a programming issue. Perhaps it is a tuning issue?

I'd love to hear any input anybody has. If it is a hardware issue, should I send it off to an authorized dealer for repair?

Thanks!

Wide/narrow band doesnt matter in this situation.

Go to your programming, and go to Model Options. Check your reset function setting. Set it to Revert N or it may say Delay_N with Revert.

this just happend to one of my Minitor V's vhf stored voice two channel. It was a hardware problem and i had to send it into the motorola depot. Because i didn't have a warranty, i had to pay $78 flat rate but they just sent back a brand new pager.

hope this helps.

I would also think that it is a hardware issue. If you took the same codeplug and put it in a new pager and it worked just fine. Than it has to be a hardware problem.

Awesome. I know that this pager is out of warranty because I checked it on the motorola site. When you say motorola depot...do you mean a local repair shop or do you mean motorola itself?
