If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Does anyone know how much the cost is for the 380-470mhz option kit for a APX 7000XE radio? My radio has the UHF2/700/800 in it...I don't plan on using the UHF-2 side. I would be keeping the 700/800 and just adding the 380-470 UHF-1 part. The versions of the radio are:

Firmware 16.22

and software 16.0

If that helps.

Can't be done, the radio is not hardware capable of the UHF R1 split.

I'm curious if you can simply switch out the RF deck, reflash, and then align the radio or if there would be other hardware changes required.

Negative. There is no way Depot will change the components on the 450-520 board to the components required for proper operation at 380-470 MHz.

No. You'll need depot once the boards are changed out to initialize it aside from the fact of the hardware changes. That was what I was trying to get across.
