• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Does anyone know anything about this model number?

I have been fooling around with some HT1000s and seeing if I can do a little hacking. So, the other day, I was looking at HT1000 RSS with a hex editor and ran across the following model number in the program:H01WCC4AA1AN. I thought that was strange seeing as how there never was a 900 MHz model.
Just for fun, I changed the model number in a 800 MHz codeplug to the above model and when I loaded it into the RSS, all I got was a "Bandsplit doesn't match model" warning. Other than that, it showed to be a 16 channel HT1000. It corrected the bandsplit from 15 to 13 when I saved it. A Google search for it turns up nothing. I don't remember exactly which version of the software I saw this in. I seem to think it was 3.03. Any explanations?

I have never seen any mention of 900 MHz HT1000s. Do you know where that information might be located?
The 900 MHz Visar was made in a trunked model only and its RSS is called VisarPP. Besides, the Visar model numbers all start with H05, not H01. It could be a model that was planned, but never made. I also wonder if maybe it could have been a special model made for one customer. You see all kinds of weird stuff that came out of Motorola. I have a Visar with no display and no channel select buttons. None of the RSS I have will read it. The Model tag on the inside of the back is missing. I have never seen any mention of it anywhere. I suspect it was a special trunked model with one system, and only one talk group.

SP models exist.

Since the RF boards can be swapped easily, I guess that they could have put 900MHz rf boards from another Jedi model (MTS?) with an HT1000 control board. SP product, another market, who knows.

If you really want to know, go check over at BatLabs forum. Likely someone will know, or it's already been discussed.

Not sure if the HT1000 900MHz supports HearClear, but if the controller has HearClear, it may be an issue if you slapped a V/U RF board and can't disable the HC circuitry as it wasn't used on V/U Jedis (at least not that I am aware of).

It wasn't an SP model by any means, there were some 900MHz conventional customers back in the 1990s. A local EMC here was one of them (later transitioned to an EDACS/PV now TETRA)
