Default Alien Covenant

Spoilers ahead. If you have not seen the new alien movie don't read on.

Okay, so this movie takes place chronologically between Prometheus and the original Alien movie from 1979. In this movie we learn that the android David did some experimantation with the alien engineer's weaponized life forms and used Dr. Shaw as a host and made the first xenomorphs. At the end we see that he places a couple of xenomorph embryos in a cold storage drawer on the Covenant presumably with the intent on releasing them on the planet that the Covenant is going to colonize. Okay, so far so good. Now in the next movie chronologically, Alien, the Nostromo unknowingly picks up the aliens from planet LV-426 which is a different planet.

So - how did the xenomorphs get from the colony planet to LV-426?

Science fiction will get very paradoxical even the greatest have this problem eventually no matter how great the franchise.

It was a total let down for me.

I was looking forward to a possible story line that involved exploring the race that created humans and the other genetic experiments (face sucking aliens) but lazily the writer had them wiped out in one fell swoop.

Yes i understand the revenge aspect but more face sucking aliens, boring and unimaginative.

I haven't been impressed with the movies that have been coming out for quite a while. With few exceptions, they tend to be sequels/prequels or remakes of movies. There just doesn't appear to be much in the way of creativity or effective story telling coming out of Hollywood anymore. The latest Alien movie fall in that category as well.

Very succinct statement bharvey2;2814508

I think it's a product of the era of dumbing down and control which we find ourselves living in at present.

To many reasons of why this is occurring from start to finish, above and bellow and obviously Hegelian dialectics.

Gordon, I definitely agree with you on the first point. I'm hardly a philosophy guy so I won't comment on the second.
