New loggings 02/01/2011

NSP:

3098-This may be another possible Troop B Sgt. area or ops talkgroup, note TG 3097 on 1/31/2011, no voice noted on either Talkgroups. Tagged via Pro96com.

NPPD:

3525-lots of activity noted here, crews going to the Creighton, Ne. area to set poles, install grounds and to figure where to eat lunch at. May be Norfolk Switching 2 Talkgroup?

3541-"Ok have a good one, btw he never answers his radio"-Only transmission heard. The other person he was talking to was very pixelated (weak digital signal, like R-2D-2 going nuts). Then requested to call on the phone.

3124-Poss NDOR ALL (statewide)
3097-Poss H 8 H Op 1
3098-Poss H 9 H Op 2
4001 and 6000 have no educated guess on those.
These are all "educated" guess ranges Corrections 3044-3050, NDOR 3124-3132, Game and Parks 3071-3090 and Statewide events 3060-3069.
Keith County is looking into using NWIN for day to day operations. The state is trying to get local agencies to use the system for day to day ops. Of course at a price.
So far non of the radio ID for NWIN are on ORION.

I logged 3124 a couple of times on 02/03, of course, I was away from the radio to hear what the transmissions are.

It looks like NPPD is going to take time to figure out. But it seems that all the different flavors of talkgroups that have been logged from NPPD may not be NPPD. Much like the other talkgroups!

I have also heard from a very reliable source that agencies in the panhandle, besides Keith County, have expressed strong interest in joining N-WIN.

Part of the cost to those county and city agency is to bring your repeater pair to the NWIN system I would think to help channel loading.

Tg 3020

TGID 3020-logged appx 1900 14 Feb 2011. Lincoln Troop HQ dispatcher passing license info to a Trooper near Waverly/Hwy 6 exit, however the Trooper was replying over TGID 3106. Only heard once thus far.

Possible new Troop HQ talkgroup?

Cool! sounds like Omaha (Troop A) is getting ready to be activated, they just need to find frequencies.

Douglas County (KAB321 and KA8618) expired on 01/02/2011.
That would give them 154.950, 155.070, 155.130 and the three mobile freqs
of 159.030, 159.090 and 159.150 mHz.

The dispatcher may have multiple TG selected (simulcast not patched) like what we do with DCSO Disp and Info on A shift.
Those are the old frequencies. The state does not have any licenses in the Omaha area for a trunking system.

Are those the old analog DC Sheriff freqs?

Yes they are. The 155.070 and 159.030 pair date back to around 1960 and was the first
VHF repeater for the DCS. 155.130 was the old OPD cruiser frequency acquired when
OPD migrated to UHF in 1971. There were a bunch of VHF frequencies used in Douglas
County prior to the trunked system. I don't know why some agencies are hanging on to
them since they aren't being used and the narrowbanding mandate will require them to
replace equipment that can't meet compliance.
