I've been attempting to program Sarpy Co. Public Safety (Papillion Fire) into my RS Pro-106, but can't seem to get it to work. I'm using PSREdit500, and was told to enter the system at Motorola VHF/UHF, 800/900, P25, and so on. Anyone have an insight into what I might be missing here?

Sarpy is not P25. 800mhz trunked analog. Pro 106 will do both analog and digital. Enter Sarpy County as MOT 800/900 system and program the main and alternate control channels.

I must be doing something wrong, unless hearing no traffic from Sarpy all day is normal. I entered Sarpy in as 800/900 with the primary and alternate channels, and still nothing. Would being in central Omaha have something to do with it?

Very much so. You can get spotty reception in Omaha but unless you have a good line of sight and good antenna you will get bad coverage.

The pro 106 is reband capable; it will not need a custom band plan entered.

fwiw, i can pick up sarpy county from Fremont with an 800mhz antenna. Not clear as day, but i can make out 100% of whats being said.
Being inside of a city (omaha) with paging towers and other things will have an impact though.

as stated above, make sure you have it set to "motorola 800/900" and have the following frequencies programmed in
0854.2625
0854.5375
0859.2375
0859.9875

Also, you will need all of the talkgroups you want to listen to programmed in, OR, have a "Wildcard" programmed in.

With Sarpy's repeater is up high out on KPTM's tower (Besides the repeater off JFK Dr and Galvin Rd.). I have carried Sarpy clear into Lincoln, North Bend and Oakland, Ne. on my Pro106. When the ducting is going, I will get them up here in Norfolk.

Omaha is indeed a tough area for Sarpy.

Your scanner may not receiving Sarpy due to a cell tower desensing your scanner.
