I'm confused why SSCPD does not appear in any database - not on the county page, not as a part of RACOM, and not on the Nebraska State Radio System. I did an FCC records search for Dakota County, and it seems that license WPKB700 was granted in February 2017 to "SOUTH SIOUX CITY, CITY OF" for "POLICE DEPARTMENT", on a frequency of 453.250 MHz, narrow FM emission. Furthermore, at the same time, license WQGQ366 was granted for "Fire and emergency of the county" on 151.100 MHZ, also narrow FM. Has anyone monitored either of these?

I have heard rumors that they are part of this system, but no one has confirmed.

If you can receive the Woodbury County Simulcast Site, search for unknown talkgroups and let us know what you find.

Even though this site is labeled as Woodbury County Simulcast, there appears to also be a transmitter location for the site in Dakota County Nebraska.

Monitoring on an App? This is the National Party Line given by LE without one shred of evidence to support such.

I don't actually live there anymore, but I went to high school in South Sioux City in the early 1980s. I look at the database for Nebraska from time to time. I miss Nebraska, wish I still lived there.

Share, Please

There's plenty of evidence.

Please, cite your sources regarding how a "police scanner" has been involved in an incident involving the killing or harming of an officer. If you are talking about an online feed, there should only be dispatch. However, people have been sloppy when incidents have occurred and the online stream wasn't taken down. I am vehemently opposed to online scanning for obvious reasons.

When & if you cite sources, whether it be professional LE journals, etc. I am not impressed with blogs or unreliable sources of information.

Also, I would be very happy to share our little get together here in Waco with the Twin Peaks shootout between the Bandidos & a rival biker gang. It was in the clear, no officers were hurt, period.

Here is the real issue. Let's just test this idea. I challenge any LE agency to reverse encryption based on a mutual agreement to take down an online feed. Officers have asked for this to happen with certain online scanner services. When no cooperation occurred, they went "E." I can understand that & agree with LE.

If the LE agency has engaged in prevarication by stating online feeds threatened officer safety, they might have to admit to playing B.S. games with the public. If you want to drive a wedge between the public & LE, this is a perfect way to do it.

In Texas, we have the sense to be more selective about our encrypted channels. Our LE agencies want our help. They made a movie about our Sheriff who used to be a Texas Ranger. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2582782/

Correction & Apology

Orion, I apologize for not paying attention to the "app" in your quote. Yes, I would agree, there are many incidents of dunce-driven interference with LE using apps.

This is a hot button issue for me. Again, I am in favor of boycotting all online feeds due to the consequences. I truly don't care if Sally Joe can hear her local police on her App.

Trust me, I understand how frustrating it is when LE has to encrypt because of the behavior of morons.

The Boston Marathon was rather unique since they reportedly rebroadcasted more sensitive channels over MA or something like that. I wrote the feed & asked it to be taken down.
