SAR Pine Nut Mountains

Currently Douglas County Search and Rescue working a search and rescue in the hills behind Pineview Estates. Careflight helicopter located patient, landed and medical assessing patient. Ground units having a hard time making their way up to where the patient is. Apparently patient had a seizure. Strong winds and approaching t-storm hampering efforts.

TAC Channel for ops is on East Fork Fire Orange: 156.225 CT 141.3
Comms with Careflight is on CALCORD: 156.075

Trying to figure out how to get the patient out of the hills.

A lot of confusion now about which helicopter to use to hoist the patient! First was a request for RAVEN out of Washoe County. Then somehow, CHP helicopter got a request and was enroute from Auburn, CA. Finally RAVEN crew got permission to fly and (hopefully) will be on scene in about 10 mins.

Operation going on now for about 4 hours, hopefully the patient will recover. Got to be a bit chilly up there with all that wind!!

Apparently CHP H24 continued and ended up being 2 minutes out BEFORE RAVEN even left Reno! CHP crew just hoisted the patient successfully and is now enroute to Renown Hospital in Reno!

Comms to/from CHP were on CALCORD: 156.075 CSQ

Good job to all of the SAR volunteers and fire/ems personnel who worked on this for about 5 hours now!

Now the ground crews are gathering up and making their way down the mountain...
