Still looking for the new TMFPD/Washoe County talk groups. Radio service has been programming the
new talk groups into their radios all last week.

I guess we will just have to look for them on Sunday morning when the new department goes in
service.

That's part of the excitement of a new radio system. I remember when my old hometown when from a series of conventional frequencies to a trunked system .It took me awhile to confirm some talkgroups . While others were obvious. See Glynn county Georgia for details :)

FWIW, about a week ago I heard two Battalion Chiefs on "TM Dispatch" after one of them told the other one to switch their from RFD Red. Oddly enough it showed as NDF Dispatch 1 (433 / 03-061), so they may be just reusing that talkgroup.

Then about two hours ago I heard someone trying to reach someone else on "TM Command" which also came up as a NDF talkgroup - NDF Command 2 (436 / 03-064).

I am waiting though until I hear more traffic to submit the info to the DB.

Heard Following Channels being tested so far - the below list is how they Identified them (I put them in talk group order) - during testing there seemed to be some confusion between the command 2 and Tac 4 - then one person said that Tac 4 was the old Sierra District Event Group (I am assuming he was refering to the Sierra Fire protection District) after that they both ended up on TAC 4 - Command 2 was tested later. It should be noted that "TMFPD" is my notation - they used either "TM" with channel name or just the channel name by itself such as Tac 4, Command 1 ETC

TMFPD Dispatch 03-061
TMFPD Command 1 03-062
TMFPD Command 2 03-063
TMFPD Tac 4 03-064
TMFPD Tac 5 03-065
TMFPD Tac 6 03-066
TMFPD Slide Mtn 03-067
TMFPD Peavine 03-070
TMFPD Virginia Pk 03-071 (ID'd as VP I am assuming Virginia Peak))
TMFPD Gerlach 03-072

I also am hearing testing on 03-075 although they haven't said the name of the TG... looking at the numbering it may be related and they did say they (Washoe) were testing for "Station 11"...

It has started, NLTFPD dispatch just asked their units to switch to the new "TM Dispatch" and "IF Main" was now retired and then shortly after, the Pyramid Lake stations just told RFD they were switching also and thanks for everything.

Units are now checking in on the new TM Dispatch (03-061)...

Washoe is testing Tone-Out and Voice, havent figured out that freq or mode but im searching VHF,UHF & 800 Conventional Mode for it.

Other than what is in this blog, I don't think there is much yet. I am sure more info will be forthcoming.

I have a couple of radio loading charts on the new TMFPD, but they are in XLS. I do not know how to attach them here.

In the latest RR database for TMFPD it shows 03-067, 070, 071 & 072 as dispatch channels.

Question: Are these dispatch channels or are these the cross-band channels to the TM vhf
repeaters at those locatios.

I don't know exactly so I couldn't advise what exactly to set them to as they will dispatch on the channel and then use it as a command/tac channel often times. I do believe though the VHF system can be used on them.

Prior to Truckee Meadows merging with Reno Fire Dept, wich i think was about 10 or more years ago they were VHF only using the Repeater sites and two Simplex Tac Channels (RFD was on 453 mhz before moving to EDACS), then they merged and at that time RFD had moved to EDACS and i think since the radio system was already in place it was easier to crossband One TG per VHF Rptr site and the tw Tac Channels Gold and Silver.
EDACS can Simulcast, and VHF couldnt be done that way, so depending on the area they chose a site to Simulcast a Dispatch.
Why they still are calling those Disp i assume that if for some reason they can still Simulcast on EDACS and VHF.
It was just a month ago i believe that all 800 mhz RFD traffic was crossbanded on all the original VHF Channels when working a fire.

It was like this:
TM Slide Dispatch
158.7450 mhz.146.2 Output
159.3900 mhz/107.2 Input
AFS 03-031 800 mhz Crossband
-----------------------------------------------
TM Peavine Dispatch
158.7450 mhz/146.2 Output
159.3900 mhz/118.8 Input
AFS 03-032 800 mhz Crossband
------------------------------------------------
TM Virginia Dispatch
158.7450 mhz/146.2 Output
159.3900 mhz/136.5 Input
AFS 03-033 800 mhz Crossband
------------------------------------------------
TM Silver
158.8800 mhz/Csq Output
158.8800 mhz/107.2 Input
AFS 03-024 800 mhz Crossband
------------------------------------------------
TM Gold
158.9400 mhz/Csq Output
158.9400 mhz/107.2 Input
AFS 03-023 800 mhz Crossband

They have carried those VHF sites over to the new Talkgroups to Crossband with 800 mhz, i read the article and they state that for now the VHF will remain in place for back up.
Today was listening to VHF and 800 mhz TG 03-070 Peavine, and there was no crossbanding today however they could had gone to the VHF TM-Peavine and Crossbanded to TM-Peavine EDACS, also all or most of the Pagers for the VFD's are still using VHF.
I assume as needed Dispatch can connect opr disconnect crossbanding at will like before.
That is my 2 Cents worth from what i do know from listening for 20 years on and off.
I wouldnt always listen to them because they are 45 miles north of my location but were part of my Scan list programed in my radio.
If this helps in any way thats a good thing.
