1. what radio traffic can you pick up and others you cannot do to the new system.
2. What is dispatch by radio?
I hear most calls are sent by computer not radio low priority calls like shoplift ,theft , fraud , landlord and tenant dispute , check call , alarm , suspicious person , suspicious car , noise complaint , threatening phone calls , complaint ,B&E report , car theft report , youth complaint so on. All are sent by computer and not verbally dispatch.
3. How many calls should you hear in hour?
The Wikipedia page is saying services the population of 1,996,542 people and 2,2743 police officers and 8 area commands.

So you need all 8 area commands program into you scanner to puck up all area commands . If you live in the Northeast you need that command program in.
