Good Sunday Morning, everyone.
I just moved to Vegas from the Coachella Valley CA. I'm a new ham as of this last Fall, so I still have a ton to learn. So far I only have my Tech ticket, but that's mainly because recent life changes interrupted my studies. I plan to get my Extra ticket.
I'm 42 years old and have been working in computer technology for 21 years. I found my way into ham radio due to an interest in emcomms while living in close proximity to several major earthquake fault zones in CA. Subsequently, I learned that ham radio is a very complex and deep subject with a mind-blowing number of activities to enjoy. Getting into ham radio also made me interested in playing with electronics projects, PCBs, micro-controllers, and most recently small RC drone building and flying.
At any rate, radio was pretty dead down there, and I spent more time listening to streams from more interesting places, than I did getting involved in my old city. I'm hoping things are better here with the larger population.
I'm looking forward to connecting with local clubs.
Are there any active repeaters here, or are things pretty quiet?
