I heard East Fork Training requesting a Tac for training with dispatch as if she needed to confirm it was not in use, then came back and said "Yellow Tactical" i have colors Orange,Green,Purple and Silver and i did a search for quite a while from 150.6000 - 163.0000 and 173.0000 - 174.0000 and only freq that was suspicious was SLT City Tactical Repeater and all i was hearing was lots of signals with voice and white noise coming through repeater and no way was it useable. That repeater is in South Lake Tahoe on 153.9950 WPRG476 162.2 The input is 155.9400 127.3 and that is output of Carson City Jail Repeater WQEU275 and sometimes i will hear CCSO Jail comms come over repeater in SLT.

These are confirmed and used often, except purple has been very quiet and comms were Douglas co radio techs going to south county repeater site a couple of years ago using repeater but sounded experimental signal degraded fast then they went to simplex using tone 156.7

Designated Color Channels
156.2250 Orange rptr
156.2250 Green, simplex
151.1300 Purple rptr
155.6400 Silver simplex

Red and Blue were labled for DCSO years ago but are not refered to color now Red 154.7400 was or is East Peak/Law Primary and Blue 154.8900 was or is Glenbrook/Upaway/Law Primary using vote-scan.
Listed on 2011 doc Yellow was listed as 155.1150 but is labled as JLEC/Law Primary of course i listened hear as well no simplex fire comms, one thing a while back maybe a year ago was an outside agency trying to call DCSO Disp using this freq in simplex mode and it only repeats from JLEC with 155.6250 input and not monitored by disp all voted signals come into 911 center on uhf link from east peak which are linked to voted sites and only hear the 155.6250 input to vote scan frequencies so i wonder why this freq was programmed into outside agency vehicle, i dont recall what agency it may be yellow but it doesnt make sense..

There are many other freqs licensed to Douglas Co but are in use for other such as law or roads and have remained unchanged so i didnt list them.

These are still licenced for Douglas co but never active.
153.8225 WQKG846 nothing heard
154.2950 WQOA702 this is a VFIRE23 freq but Douglas has it as a repeater in south county
155.4900 WQOA702 this also is licenced as repeater nothing ever heard.
155.5950 WQNX750 nothing heard
154.0100 WQNX750 nothing heard
156.0675 WQMJ872 this was a couple of years ago input to purple repeater nothing heard lately
151.0475 WQIE872 250.3 one day somebody came on here calling it tac silver with this tone licensed as extender for tahoe douglas after the broadcast calling a fire unit on silver he was gone never heard again.

The searching would had yielded something if training had occurred nearby so im in the dark on "Fire Tac Yellow" somebody must have the final list, the 2011 list was incorrect at time of reprogramming and i looked everywhere with no results.

I just re-did all the radios for East Fork, but my NDA prevents disclosure. Call the Chief over there, he will be able to given you a new plan.

Today i heard Ruenstroth Station-10 units advising Dispatch on East Fork Fire Command Ch that they would be training on Tactical Yellow, so i thought finally i will have the frequency.

I searched from
150.7000 MHz - 162.0000 MHz for a while and nothing heard in analog mode so i tried
162.0000 MHz - 174.0000 MHz for the heck of it and nothing sounded like Ruenstroth Station-10
units training and i live close by, one thing did stand out on repeater and input to this repeater and here is what i do beleive to be the reason why i havent found traffic on Yellow frequency the maybe 4 times total
i have heard them switch to this freq.
I do not have a P25 capable scanner yet, so this info is yet to be confirmed however P25 traffic came to life for a while and heard on input as well as repeater and no analog traffic found.
I beleive this is correct and if anybody wants to confirm or deny im curious as well as others.

By chance i had left radio on after i heard douglas co road crew flaggers on 155.8500 MHz/127.3 Hz and thought i had volumne down but not, so this morning i was still on this freq programed with ctcss tone and heard briefly East Fork Fire Unit Training-10 come up calling certain units for a simulated commercial structure fire and the freq was refered to as "Yellow" multiple times so i have now confirmed:

WQAI221 MO 155.8500 / 127.3 Hz Douglas Co Public Safety-YELLOW
SHERIFF
FIRE (EFFPD training mobiles/handhelds) confirmed use
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
PUBLIC WORKS (flagger handhelds) confirmed use

Confirmed color designations are:
156.2250/141.3 Green Repeater
156.2250/141.3 Orange Talk/Around
155.6400/114.8 Silver Tactical/Simplex
155.8500/127.3 Yellow Tactical/Simplex
151.1300/156.7 Purple Tactical/Simplex

151.0475/250.3 Heard a tahoe douglas fire unit calling freq Silver but nothing heard since mistake?
About two years ago.
Its licensed as a mobile repeater but it was a full power mobile no comms being repeated thru it.

154.7400/100.0 Was Red when it was stand alone East Pk (Valley/Lake Tahoe repeater)
154.8900/100.0 Was Blue when it was stand alone Topaz (So county repeater)
This was 20 years ago give or take.
Now are reused for vote scan with different ctcss tones and not refered to as Red & Blue
and there are other simplex freqs in use but rarely and i dont know what they are designated as
but are used by same departments within county as i have heard them in use.
Public Works pops up anywhere as i have heard them on at least 4 different freqs, fire seems to stay with silver admin?,yellow training?, orange & green tahoe douglas/east fork coordination, silver has been used by sheriff in past, purple used by swat about a week ago, sar is on some simplex freqs but have not heard a color and public works has used them also.
Im continuing to note color designators as i hear them and the rest may take time and i didnt include the freqs in this thread but i have them in my personal list with tones on most.

Douglas Co Purple frequency confirmed DCSO SWAT Tac comms

I was listening to a man armed with chainsaw and had access to firearms, he was off his medication and drinking patrol units couldnt get him to respond to commands so the call for SWAT came out and one the vehicles was their M-RAP responding Code-3 once they were on scene on primary law repeater the in deputy in charge told SWAT members to switch to purple.
M-RAP vehicle responding Code-3 image attatched this was taken at distance reason for out of focus.

151.1300 Mhz/156.7 WQMJ872 Douglas County Purple S.W.A.T. Tac Simplex

Only once before i heard comms on here and it was Douglas Co radio techs car to car heading to repeater site.

I think MRAPs have become as common as Crown Vics used to be in most departments.

4mpg, can barely make 60mph heavier than an up-armored HMMV.

I guess the era of the classic patrol car is gone as u seen no doubt there seems to be a mix of the new explorer and the crew cab pickups and neither i can get used to.
I grew up with the dodge polara in and around where i lived and the dual exaust idling away on traffic stops with outside loud speaker with radio traffic which where i was came from ge mastr pro radios with the 174 beacon ray light on roof .
