Just wondering if anyone has had issues listening to Las Vegas Metro police, getting a muffled out of freq, sound? It's mostly on the channels NOT Patrol...

Are you trying to listen to the encrypted talkgroups?

Morning - sorry about the delayed response.

I am guessing "Yes" it could be encrypted but I can hear Patrol, Administration and the Airport area command just fine. Its when Gangs/Narcs, Organized Crime, Robbery, Special operations, Specialized Investigations key up, it sounds muffled or like they are underwater - I have used both the Uniden software to import on to the radio and the BuTel importing via Radio Reference..

Any thoughts?

Those talkgroups are infact encrypted. The non encrypted talkgroups are the ones you mentioned you can hear fine.

It blows my mind that their Records channel is in the clear. Nearly every transmission includes a persons life history complete with social security numbers.

I can pretty much guarantee that they will close this gap too eventually. Its probably on the list to do down the road in the near future.
