Hello,

we are going to Las Vegas for vacation in February. I was wondering if anyone could suggest what I should load in my Uniden 396T before I go. I plan on taking a laptop so I will be able to make changes quickly while there. I'm mostly interested in Police, EMS a little and Federal coms. we're staying at the Stardust so I'll probably load their system as well. thanks for any and all suggestions.

thanks guys. I already loaded the trunked and conventional systems using ARC software. I few listed by gdjelin I didn't have so I loaded those as well. I think I'll be ready when I get there. :)

I'm just using this old thread to ask a question rather than start a new one. I was looking over the Clark County pages and was curious about EMS dispatching. I see all the EMS to hospital talkgroups on the CC system and the UHF repeaters for AMR (American Medical Response?). What freqs are used for EMS dispatch and is there one EMS provider for the whole area? Also are they just using the CC system for ambulance-to-hospital comms and not using it for dispatch? Seems odd to me.

EMS Dispatching

The normal 911 EMS call goes to one of several dispatch centers depending upon jurisdiction. In LV city and county it goes to LVMPD and then is transferred to the Las Vegas Fire Alarm Office run by LVFD. They dispatch for LVFD, CCFD, and NLVFD.
In North Las Vegas the call goes to NLVPD and then they switch it to the LVFAO.
In Henderson and Boulder City the call goes to the local PD and each dispatches the medical calls. If a private ambulance is needed the LVFAO calls one of two companies which provide transport with the area. As a general rule HFD and BCFD do their own transports. Most of the time CCFD, LVFD, and NLVFD do not transport patients and utilize the private ambulance companies.

So if you want to hear EMS dispatches you might simply monitor the fire department dispatch talkgroups. Of course you will hear fire dispatches as well.

EMS Dispatching

AMR and Medic West are paramedic 911 units in Clark County.

AMR is on 462.975 but I can't recall the pL
AMR is also on 453.950 pL 156.7 (in the rural areas)
Mercy Air is also on 453.95 pL 156.7 for all of their dispatches
Occasionally you will hear AMR on 155.205 or 155.175
I think Medic West is on 462.950.

The SNACC channels are for the medic ambulances to call the hospital and tell the hospital what the patient's problem is, what they have done so far, and to request additional orders.
