Does anybody know what the best site is for the SNACC system for the Las
Vegas Valley? I already have the guide but I just wanted to see what site to put in.

Has anybody ever heard of someone being hassled while carrying a scanner from a hotel parking lot to a hotel room?

Hassled by who? Hotel security? LOL...let 'em try ;-)

You can carry your scanner in public, not a problem, nobody from any hotel is in the position of authority to tell you that you cant carry (or use) your scanner.

I just use the list in the order shown on page 12 of the Southern Nevada Radio Scanner Book. I live in the southwest part of the valley and they work great.

I had the same thought about using a scanner in a casino a long time ago and did find some interesting threads about this very topic. Sorry, but, but I think the thread is no longer around.

This jist of the comments were not to ever take a scanner into a casino or hotel. Some casinos may consider a scanner to be a cheating device and therby illegal. Plus, in today's world of hightened security casinos may consider it a security threat.

Thank you for the quick response guys. I'll think over your two responses for the hotel security question. I appreciate your input.

Scanners in a casino

Many times I have walked into a casino with a scanner or two-way radio but I have made it a point to always keep it concealed on my person while inside and the only time I might reach inside my jacket to adjust the volume would be if I was sitting in a buffet and away from the casino floor. Yes, they might initially consider it a cheating device especially if I have a two-way radio on me. So if they don't know I have it and I do not do anything to arouse their attention, so much the better. Lastly, a casino is private property and at any time they can request that a patron leave and if you do not, look to be detained and the police called. Just use common sense.
