Firefighters are on the scene of a fire that is destroying a building in North Plainfield at this time.
The multi-alarm fire ripped through a large vacant health care facility that's located in the in the 600 block of Somerset Street (Villa Maria) shortly before 3:30 a.m. sending firefighters and mutual assistance to the scene where crews began an exterior attack after heavy fire tore through the structure.
The fire reached 5-alarms as of 4:30 a.m. with dozens of firefighters assisting in the operation.
There are no injuries reported and the cause is under investigation.
