Guys,

The 7.x site is now on-line at 477.825. I cannot copy the system well enough here in Somerset County to run Pro96Com on it, so if someone could run the specs & post the log files here in this thread, I'd appreciate it!

Subscribers will start migrating in January...

477.825 is currently a CC for the West IR on the Motorola system.

However, as far as the P25 system...

Whoops, I boo-boo'd on the frequency! My 396XT is being lent out to a friend, so I'm without my main investigative tool right now.

That would also explain why I was hearing it so poorly. The correct frequency is full-scale here...

That's alright, I was sitting on it for a solid 10 minutes wondering why it wasn't decoding P25 before I realized it was a Moto CC! I normally have Unitrunker set to decode only P25 on that receiver, which is why I wasn't getting anything lol.

A bit interesting that the system is reporting as Phase I. Does anyone know definitively if it was supposed to be Phase II, or are they simply upgrading the existing non-linear repeaters?

The county agencies got APX-6000's as portables, so I'm assuming the plan is to switch it to Phase-II when the local towns get upgraded. That might be quite a while, though. I'll touch-base with my contact & see what he has to say...

I just took a look at the database entry and noticed that it has no talkgroups listed as of yet. For those who are already monitoring the new 7.x system, are you seeing any TG activity? Sorry if the question is silly, but I wasn't sure and I'm always trying to learn more.

I know that after the first of the year they are planning on transitioning agencies over gradually to the new system, TG by TG.

I haven't seen any talkgroup activity during my short drive through Morris County today. I did notice the control channel was active from it seemed the Randolph and Boonton sites, but once I got further north on 287 past Montville it faded away. Leads me to believe that all sites have not been turned on yet.

Hmm, ok. Thanks for the update. I'll be interested to see if that Riker Hill site was turned on yet or not. The current SmartZone system has terrible coverage in my hometown in SE Morris County. Will program later and see if RSSI is any stroger on the 7.x system in an attempt to determine.

I came up 24 from 78 to 287 and the same stretch along 24 faded a bit. That's why I'm thinking the Livingston site was not up yet.

I've had Unitrunker parked on the CC for the past 24+ hours. Here's the very sparse activity that was logged today:

- Radio ID 85455 powered on and affiliated with TG 774 at 15:31:18, then keyed up on that TG a few seconds later

- Radio ID 85455 affiliated with TG 2079 at 15:31:34

- Radio ID 43185 powered on and affiliated with TG 774 at 15:47:35, then keyed up on that TG a few seconds later

Also, 478.075 is another voice channel (submission made)

It looks like they are doing something similar to Somerset County - 2079 is the hexadecimal equivalent to 33264 in the CPS, and that's the OEM/Haz-Mat main talkgroup.

774 equates to 12384, which is nothing I know of at all valid against the Type-II...

Take any Type-II talkgroup & divide it by 16. That's what the actual decimal equivalent will be on a standard P25 system if the agency chooses to that kind of in-place conversion (see for yourself with the Somerset County stuff).

Most system admins see the configuration only in hex (as the older CPS only allows that). The new APX stuff lets you choose between hex or decimal for TGID programming.

That simple. The NJSP has done the same thing with the PSIC talkgroups, so we should be able to convert every talkgroup over to the 700 system.

A little bit more activity today, but still not much. Same two RID's, 43185 and 85455, both affiliating and calling on TG 774. A new TG also popped up when RID 43185 affiliated with it: 3995. There's no TG 63920 on the Motorola system to match up with.

RID 43063 popped up today. Still next to no activity on the system.
