Beach replenishment in Ortly Beach has been going on for about 2 weeks now, they have about another week or so to go. They are using Marine radio Ch 1 for beach ops and to talk to the dredge boats. Only interesting when the dredge boat starts pumping.

Beach replenishment in Ortly Beach has been going on for about 2 weeks now, they have about another week or so to go. They are using Marine radio Ch 1 for beach ops and to talk to the dredge boats. Only interesting when the dredge boat starts pumping.

I cannot begin to fathom the horsepower/energy required to move wet sand the distance that boat is sending sand to the beach. Ortley isn't finished but its a lot wider now. They bulldozers worked 24/7 to re-distribute the sand evenly;y
