Unfortunate too. We need the rain bad. Temps suppose to be hitting up to 104 this week. Seen tankers training outside of Roswell last week and couple other areas getting ready for the season.

Been listening to 172.3 as the tankers are lining up for their runs. Pretty cool. Flying over the NE Heights every hour or so.

hmmm.

You should be able to hear 172.3000 without a digital scanner. Where are you at?

I am in Rio Rancho. I've heard squelch often enough that I finally locked out the channel. I've never heard any actual voice.

I am sitting at a good height in NE Abq, and side by side, my BCT15X is not receiving on 172.3 but my BCD436HP is. The 436 screen is indicating NFM but not even breaking squelch on the 15X. Both radios are connected to outside antennas.

(Update) I will receive traffic on 172.3 on the BCT15X, BUT only in scan, not on hold. I have no idea why.

172.3 analog PL131.8 Santa Fe control

Plus:
172.5 P25 NAC111
169.675 P25
168.65 analog Flight Following
170.525 PL 110.9 Albuquerque control
171.55 analog

Probably don't enter PL or NAC, due to multi-use.

Another issue may be you will only receive the Cerro Pelado repeater. A lot of traffic is on the Tesuque repeater which you may not be able to receive due to Sandia Mountain blocking you.

Here is another listening option. Use your right speaker only.

No problems, everything is working, receiving traffic on both radios.
