I'm in the same boat as the OP of this thread:
http://forums.radioreference.com/ne...-cant-seem-figure-out-how-program-trunks.html
I just bought my first handheld scanner and had NO CLUE how complex it would be to program it. The manual is basically no help and I'm overwhelmed by the volume of information here---in other words, I don't want to become a scanner expert, I just want to know how to program my P-164 to receive local Fire/EMS/Sheriff transmissions.
I did find this page with the frequencies:
Frederick County, Maryland (MD) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
I'm only interesting in the first section, "Frederick, County of"
I also found this page, but I'm not sure what I need this data for:
Scanner Frequencies: Frederick County Trunking System, Frederick County, Maryland
I see that Fred County uses a Motorola Type II Smartnet system, but I have no idea how to program my scanner based on all the provided frequencies and data about the local systems.
Is anyone willing to explain how I program my scanner?
