PRO-197 Scanner

I have a RadioShack PRO-197 scanner that I am trying to program trunk systems without any success.
I have purchased a cable and can connect and control the scanner OK. I cannot seem to enter a Trunk system and talk grout objects that ever connect.

I am east of Cleveland Ohio, in Lake county and have tried some local counties.

I have tried using that MARCS-IP P25 system and about 30 talk group objects, no luck.

Can anyone suggest a particular talk group and trunk system frequency in my area that I can try out?

Are you programming by hand or with software? I'd suggest downloading Win500 from Starrsoft. I had a hell of a time programming my first Pro-106 until I played around with Win500. They offer a free 30 day trial.

Sorry I can't be of any help specifically in regards to your county/programming. I'll leave that for someone else to chime in.

PRO-197 Software

Yes I am using software ScanControl V7.0 from 3D technologies

I have set the trunk system to P25 Manual, Alpha tag Lake County and a bunch of frequencies I found for Lake county Oho.

Here are some frequencies

852.412500
853.412500
854.412500
855.412500
851.437500
852.437500


I have set the talk group ID's to the wild card *
And copied some talk group Apha Tags from the web site.
Set talk group type to Group

I have installed the latest firmware patches from Radio Shack

Is there any other settings that I need to make?
