I have a pro 163 scanner and i am new at this programming stuff. i have a question reguarding listing to RCMP AND RNC here in newfoundland.

The RNC Royal New Constabulary on there audio they sound scrambled. with my scanner can i decode this and if not what kind of scanner would i need to purchase to decode the scrambled signals.

so my question really is can this be done and if so what would i need to do it with .

I see two different systems for RCMP. On the EDACS system they are analog, but RNC is using AEGIS digital which no scanner can decode.

On the Project 25 Phase I system RCMP uses digital and only two talk groups appear to be encrypted, which no scanner can decode.

You will need a digital scanner such as the Pro-197 / Pro-652 but like I said they will not decode AEGIS nor encryption.
