Hi new to this game, need help! Have a new BCD996P2 UNIDEN. Downloaded CT police from RR and it is giving me some 800m error? This scanner should be able to run this if I am correct? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jeff.

Yes, the scanner should work fine for CSp. I am listening now on a 996XT.

What do you mean 800m error?

I just tested downloading the system and for some reason it downloads as a Motorola Standard instead of a Motorola Custom system type.
You can change it on the keypad but you need to edit most of the Sites and type in a two line band plan. It may be quicker and easier to do with the software

from the manual

For Custom (rebanded) Motorola/VHF/UHF Systems
This settings lets you create a custom band plan. Custom band plans require that you enter both a
lower and an upper base frequency value. The lower base frequency (or base) is always the base
frequency as provided in the Radio Reference Database.
Follow the instructions and use the spreadsheet at WebHome < UnidenMan4 < TWiki
CalculatingUpperBaseFrequencies to determine the upper base frequency value.
1. Scroll to ‘Edit Band Plan’ and press E/.
2. At ‘Select Plan’ scroll to ‘Band Plan 1-6’ and press E/ .
3. At ‘Set Base Freq’ press E/ .
4. At ‘Input Lower’ enter the lower base frequency and press E/ .
5. At ‘Input Upper’ enter the upper base frequency and press E/ .
6. Scroll to ‘Set Offset’ and press E/ .
7. At ‘Input Offset’ enter the offset and press E/ .
8. At ‘Select Polarity’ scroll to + or - and press E/ .
9. Scroll to ‘Set Spacing and press E/ .
10. Scroll to the step size and press E/ .
11. Press MENU to return and repeat for each band plan as needed. Press MENU to return.
For Standard Motorola 800 MHz rebanded systems you need to set Band Plan 1 and Band Plan 2
as follows:
Band Plan Lower Base
Freq
Upper Base
Freq
Offset Polarity Spacing
1 851.0250 854.0000 440 + 25 kHz
2 851.0125 868.9875 0 + 25 kHz
