So hello!

I am sure this is a 1 millionth thread of a user, new to scanners, and just now getting my feet wet :)

I am a proud owner of a Uniden BCD996P2

I have lurked these forums and spent considerable time learning my system.

I am a resident of Clay County Missouri and I realize, at least for now, my radio is a bit overkill for this area.

I am using ARC-XT to program my scanner.

I took some screen shots - and I am curious, can any of you tell if I am on the right track?
Or am I completely off in left field with my current setup?

File

looks pretty good. You have moswin towers
from RR. You imported systems, you may want to delete some stuff, like the public works stuff in the Plate county talk groups. I found out, at first, it was easier to use Freescan. ArcXT was alittle over whelming. I created a file, added Troop H for Moi HP

Thanks so much for this... I will give it a try and see if my results are any better.
I got concerned because, when I first loaded my scanner with your basic returns from RR I heard a lot of traffic. Hear lately, with the configuration above, I forgot my scanner was on for nearly four days because I never heard a peep over the radio.

I'll try out your file and see if I still experience the lack of communications.
