Just recently bought my first radio receiver. It is the uniden BC75XLT, handheld. It came with a stock 800mhz antenna, but my local frequencies are in the 850's. When trying to program in these frequencies, it tells my that it is out of range. Is that the antenna or the receiver itself? If it is the antenna, which antenna would you suggest is best for this device?

The page for that radio says that it doesn't cover that range, just goes up to 512 mhz. See BC75XLT - The RadioReference Wiki
