Connecting to Old Bridge NJ

Hey guys,

I want to get a police scanner for my wife to use especially during hurricane season. Can someone recommend a scanner I should purchase? Our police / EMS uses a trunking system.

A battery powered scanner would be most convenient especially during a power outage, but ease of use for her is the most important. Regarding budget I am open to anything as long as it is relatively simple for her to use.

Previously I had purchased her a Uniden Handheld TrunkTracker IV Digital Police Scanner (BCD396XT) but we could never get it to work for our Police / EMS. Even had help from a friend of ours who is experienced in radio tech. So this time I am hoping not to make the same purchasing mistake

They are not on that system anymore they are on the one linked below.Police are encrypted so no monitoring them but you aregood for fire and ems.
