Firmware Updating with Batteries (not AC adapter)

Hello,
I have a BC246T Uniden scanner and I cannot find the AC adapter.

Can I do the firmware update with fresh fully charged batteries?

I am not allowed to post in the Uniden Forum all of a sudden? Anyone know why?
Does it mater that I just recently upgraded to a paid membership? Not sure why my privileges would go down with a paid membership?

Freshly charged batteries in good condition should be good... updates don't take very long.

For the record...and anyone else as lost as I am.....

I just successfully updated my BC246T from firmware 2.1 to 2.6 on batteries.

It took about 3 minutes and there were no issues.

FINALLY I'm able to use FreeScan and upload / download to the scanner again.
