Hello,

Some good prices and a lot of classified ads around for the handheld Uniden BCD436HP. With that said based on my area I'm not seeing any reasons to upgrade based on where I live. What I mean by that is for the time being I can monitor pretty much everything I want. I tend to over think things and I think I'm good.

I monitor in Central MN, Cass and Clay counties in the Fargo, ND / Moorhead, MN areas respectively.

It appears that the scanners you own will handle all you care to monitor at this point. Unless there are plans for any of these agencies to move to a P25 Phase 2 system which the PRO-651 can't decode, you could easily save your money. The 436HP, however, is a far different scanning experience than your 651. I have both the PRO-651 and 536HP, the desktop/mobile version of the 436 (as well as the PRO-163 desktop version of the 164). The GPS capability and built-in database on a microSD card have great potential when travelling. The other thing to be aware of is that Uniden continues to support the 436/536 with periodic firmware updates resulting in improved operation and capabilities. That, plus the ability to monitor DMR and NXDN through paid upgrades makes the Uniden 436HP, at a good price, hard to pass up.
