According to the Fordyce site, they use marine frequencies as follows:

156.450 - Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company - Ferry
156.975 - Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company - Ferry

Last I knew the site was no longer operational. If I remember correctly, Jim shut down the site after the site was hacked. That site had lots of great information.

Ok all...realize the Fordyce site may be out of date, but that was all I could find referencing the Port Jeff Ferry. Certainly a place to start - there is a possibility that the frequencies have not changed.

Considering those are VHF Marine freq's maybe a little SEARCH time will refine the actual use, also search outside the VHF Marine as many of the companies do license in the Part 90 bands.

The only things showing in the FCC or RRDB are the VHF Marine, but that only means a.) Not licensed or not under the names and FRN Searched or b.) Nothing submitted/found

I think they use UHF radio's on the dock an the other radio's on the water LI Sound
I use to have the freq but lost it
need a close call scanner to find the uhf freq!

Their Ship VHF Marine license would also authorize the UHF "on board" frequencies. These are commonly used by crew portables for docking.

Check 467.750, 467.775, 467.800, 467.825

There are associated repeater frequencies 457.525, 457.550, 457.575, 457.600 but these are not often used except on very large ships.

It's all VHF high band. 154.515 MHz (unknown DPL) is used between the ferry and shore personnel while at the dock in CT and NY. The same frequency is used while underway between the bridge and crew. Most of the comms will be at or near the dock, not too much chatter while underway. You will hear routine notifications on marine channels 13 and/or 16 when leaving the dock or entering the harbor (CT and NY side). They also use Nextel's to communicate ship to ship and ship to office.
