I know their is a somewhat related topic about what frequencies are used by the Strates people but I wanted to create a general list of frequencies that are used at the fair. I have the following :

154.310 Armor Fire Company - Fire command for fairgrounds
151.685 - maintenance
151.775 - security - not 100% confirmed
151.925 - unconfirmed

Please list any additions or subtractions. I'm interested in finding out what frequencies Rural Metro uses. They provide all EMS on the fairgrounds.

I have the same freq. for the fair. I have not heard anything on them yet this year. I usually start hearing stuff on them on the Monday of the fair during setup. But I have not heard anything yet this year.

The only thing I do know is that the Erie County Ag Society which runs the EC Fair has put in for a bunch of UHF Licenses. These were just sent to the FCC and I have had the frequencies in my scanner since the fair starts and have heard nothing. I am assuming they are using UHF but have no clue what the frequencies are.

What freq. do you have stored in your scanner for the fair? If you tell what they are I can put them in my scanner and see if they work.

I always monitored the ECSO, for Fair activities. I remember one year a deputy left his HT on the motorcycle. Strangely it vanished. The perp caused general mischief until the battery died. I vaguely remember hearing a story from a 2-way tech that the dispatched told him to bring it to the Command Post for a new battery. Supposedly he did. FAIL.

They must be like the freq. for the Hamburg Casino, were you can only hear them if you are very close to the fairgrounds. Because I programmed these freq. that are listed on here yesterday, and have not heard anything on them yet. Last year they were only using freq. in the 100's and I heard them perfectly clear. And this year they are using freq. in the 400's which I would think would go out farther. But I guess that is not true. I live in Hamburg, about 5 miles from the fairgrounds.

Thanks for all your help guys. Those are the right freq. I finally started hearing it today. It does not come in real clear. But I can still hear it and make out what they are saying.

JM Productions

Does anyone know the freq. for JM Productions, they run the demo derby's at the Erie County Fair. I never realized that they use radios to communicate during the event. I noticed this when I went on Thursday night.

Are they going to use the same freq. for the fair as they did last year. Still not hearing anything, usually hear them talking during setup.

They are now using their final licensed frequencies. The VHF frequencies at the start of this thread are outdated, as are the UHF "temp" frequencies (464.7000, etc) that they used a couple years ago and are still listed on the frequency database page under Events.

They are using 461.4625 for their Security and Operations Channel. This was the frequency used last year and is the one being used this year also. I have monitored it extensively and it is very active. You need to be within a radius of a few miles of the fairgrounds to pick it up well

Anyone thinking of hosting a feed for the fair online? I am just outside of the reception area, and can only hear the base for the security channel.

In the past when the Demolition Derby & Figure 8 Race comes to the NYSF in Syracuse, they have been using a EMS channel of 155.220 with a DPL 546 for communications...

...and yes, I am sure it was them. and yes, I know that's an EMS channel.
