Just noticed that the Bravest.com is streaming the fireground channel. Does anyone know if they maybe using a new frequency for that site or maybe a different group of frequencies for each Borough?
Thanks Ed
90% of fireground communications occur on TAC-1 486.1125 Simplex. They are 2W from a portable so unless the scanner radio is close to fireground scene or on a high elevation, you won't hear much from them.

Fieldcomm and some divison cars such as division 3 have the equipment
So any all hands in the 3rd divison will be rebroadcast over event 6
Anytime fieldcomm shows up at a job. 2nd alarm and better plus a few others, they will rebroadcast
A post on a different forum indicated that there is the capability to patch fireground traffic from a Deputy Chief's vehicle into the city's trunked radio system and that is how the monitoring occurs.
Thanks, I have been listening to several major fires and didn't hear much, but yesterday Staten Island did have a 10-75 and on the fireground channel there was a lot of traffic and it was in the clear.
