looking to buy a digital scanner which one is better uniden or radio shack. I have both a desktop and a handheld from uniden now i have had 2 radio shack handhelds

You can't go wrong with a pro-106 handheld from rat shack. I have had over 20 scanners in 45 years and its by far the best one I have ever owned

Well, I am a Uniden guy, but from what I have been reading in the forums the GRE's (who make the Radio Shack scanners) decode the digital better than the Uniden models.

If I was going to but a new scanner today, I would go with the GRE PSR-800

PRO-106 or PRO-197

For a base/mobile I highly recommend the RadioShack PRO-197. For a portable either the RadioShack PRO-106 or the GRE PSR-800.
