I have been running a bank of listed News media frequencies, but it has been silent. Has anyone heard any traffic on the News media frequencies, or am I just out of range ?

Most of the news media now use cellphone and have pretty much given up on radios. They know their competition is listening. From time to time you may hear engineering traffic but even that has dropped off.

Same thing happened to Boston in the early 2000's. Nextel took over, now Laptops and Cellphones , however there has been more activity occuring on some of those long silent channels. Maybe they will return, Maybe Not...
