Does anyone have the list of frequencies & pl's used by the volunteer fire depts that are located in Brooklyn & Queens? They are all in the Jamaica Bay area.

Thanks. I can find them on RR.

All the Vollies that work around Jamaica Bay use the FDNY frequencies for radio transmissions. They will ID as their dept. There is West Hamilton Beach,Broad Channel in Queens and Gerritsen Beach in Brooklyn. Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head but the FDNY handles most of the work.

Mike,

Thank you for your comments, but they also have their own - non FDNY - radio frequencies. These are the frequencies & pl's that I am seeking.

The other three dept's are out in the Rockaways - Rockaway Point, Brezzy Point, & Roxbury. These three run together & all are West of Beach 169 St which is equal to the Marine Pkwy Bridge.

Again "Thank You".

I believe they are in the LoVHF area. (47Mhz area) I believe the last time I looked up their frequency it was a common channel.

I'll look it up for you tonight in my Scannermaster NNJ/NYC Book. I could never verify if it was used or not.

A check of FCC ULS shows Rockaway Point and Point Breeze are licensed for 47.500.

I know they have their own frequencies but they do all operations for fires on the FDNY frequencies. I used to live in Marine Park and listened to them on their own channels,it was a waste of time as there was nothing worth listening to. Point Breeze and the other 2 in the Rockaways have been decimated from hurricane sandy, I don't know if they are back in operation yet. Most vollies in that area use 155.280 for comms between each other these days as it is a common channel for EMS. Flatlands VAS,( I used to be a member and an officer there) uses that as their main channel and they cover the Brooklyn side of the Marine Pkwy Bridge as well as Floyd Bennett Field. If they communicate with each other they shut off the PL to talk to each other.

Hello all,
To answer everyone's questions,
All 5 depts Vol Departments in queens use minitor pagers
The 3 in the breezy point area, are initially dispatched by community security,
Broad Channel & West Hamilton dispatch themselves.
All 5 Departments were pretty much decimated by Sandy,
But are all back operational, all still have a long roads ahead of them to get back to pre-sandy condition.
As for Radio Ops- all are issued one FDNY portable for interoperability on scene, depts with ambulance also have an issued FDNY EMS portable.
All 5 also get emergency calls over their respective "hot-lines"
Broad Channel & West Hamilton have Fdny ATS-p panels and
Receive alarms at the same time as the first due FDNY units.
Bcvfd & Whbvfd both operate licensed on 155.280
Base stations that are HIGH power!
BCVFD is also licensed in lowband 46.46
And Also a UHF repeater Pair-
Filing also submitted for 700mhz in pre-plan for future
Usage in the event the big brother actually succeeds at forcing city services into that bandwidth.
BCVFD & WHBVFD operate very closely.
