Hi ... I don't have a digital scanner, but I have been using an SDR (RTL) with the DSD plus software etc. I am familiar with all the police type frequencies on the RR database.
Lately I have been picking up police type calls on freqs I've haven't seen before, and I don't see them on the RR database. They are 459.725 and 459.850. I hear cars (in the 600s) called on 459.725 and it sounds like Greece cars (in the 800s) called on 459.850.
... Does anyone know what these are? Or is my SDR "off" somehow? ... They sound like normal police calls.... check for vehicle blocking, MVA etc. ....
What am I hearing? Thanks for any input .....

Greece (Towns West) is 460.350 and Sheriff (600 cars) is 460.475. The frequencies you are hearing - 459.725 is 625 kHz below 460.350 and 459.850 is 625 kHz below 460.475. So I would say you have a 625 kHz frequency error in your SDR setup. But, what you are hearing is reversed from the actual use of those frequencies so I do not know what else is going on other than it is definitely a problem in your system.

There is no police activity on those 459 frequencies. Are you hearing activity on the actual 460 frequencies?

If you are hearing the activity on both 459 and 460 frequencies it is some sort of spurious response caused by your SDR or software. If you are not hearing the actual frequencies, then it is probably that the SDR frequency calibration is incorrect.

I think I figured it out, thanks. I had a box checked that said "Swap I & Q" ... as soon as I unchecked it, transmissions on those frequencies disappeared and went to the correct frequency.
