Does anyone have any info on what ops TG's are active for the incidents in western NC? Have seen numerous depts. from Eastern NC deploying to support local departments with the large forest fires.

Only two Viper TGs so far besides our regular local TGs are
Statewide Events Echo 3 51973
US Forest Service LE Ops 1 60643

Most everything here in the burning fields are on local, state and USFS/NIFC freqs.

If any more pop up I will post them to RR and my Btown Monitoring Post blog.

Thanks for asking

Multiple Statewide Events Channels are being used. I have logged 6 of them so far. Also the Statewide Fire Talkgroup (52257) has been very busy along with the Statewide Calling Talkgroup (52255) with in coming units from all over the state reporting who they are and where they are headed.

Here in the far, far west in the center of all the fires (we are surrounded) they are using Echo 3, but sporadically. Most our activity is on VHF with UHF links tying it all together.

the Whipping Creek Fire (Eastern) is using
Events Bravo 2 patched/linked to 151.1750 R 136.5 Hz for Command

They also have Events Bravo 3 as needed

Easy to find the VIPER SOW... Do an search for Motorola and P25 CC that you never picked up before.

Thanks for the idea, milf. Unfortunately, when you live 5 miles from Georgia and 7 miles from Tennessee at an altitude of 2250 feet and are 74 miles from Asheville, 64 miles from Chattanooga, and 96 miles from Altanta Metro....blind scanning of frequencies in the band range is not very fruitful...you will get lots of signals but not necessarily part of the VIPER system.
