For anyone interested the Tarheel Scanner/Shortwave Listeners Group meeting will be held this evening (Monday Sept 21st) in Northeast Raleigh at the Red, Hot & Blue Restaurant on Falls of Neuse Rd. This is in The Shops of Falls Village shopping center just north of Sandy Forks Road. Directions can be found here:
Red Hot and Blue

We gather for Dinner at 6:30pm and the meeting will start at 7:30pm. Tonight's Topics:

Many aircraft are now transmitting signals (ADS-B) that provide heading, altitude, and identification information on a real-time basis. This month's meeting will be a discussion about receiving this information and about the underlying technology that is used. There will also be a demonstration of the Kinetic SBS-1 receiver/decoder that uses this information to provide a virtual radar display on your computer. Paul Holzworth, KD4BFN, and John Black, KB5AG, will be presenting.

Also, September is Sony radio month at the SIG meeting. So, bring your favorite Sony receiver and tell us a few words about it including when it was made, what you like, etc.

As always anyone is invited to attend and feel free to bring your radios with you (even if they are not Sony).
Hope to see you this evening!
Happy Monitoring
