Greetings, all.

On the VIPER Wake County EMS Dispatch channel, I heard that someone was "code blue," so I switched to tac 16 to listen to it. Later one of the responders called that the subject was "code 7."

Google tells me that "code blue" is "cardiac arrest," and that seems to jive with what I remember it meaning.

However, I can't find what "code 7" means, and on the Raleigh/Wake County cheat sheet, "code 7" is supposedly "radio repair." That doesn't make sense, so I'm wondering what code 7 is.

Can anyone tell me?

Perhaps he did call "signal 7" I just remembered it incorrectly.

That was my guess. Very sad.

Thanks.

Look at the very bottom of the list. Code 7 in Raleigh/Wake Co communications always means deceased.

Thanks, Marshall. I noticed the list of codes & signals within the list, but I didn't notice that line at the very bottom. Oops.

I've been thinking about you a lot lately. I hope you are doing well.
