TN state line VIPER Status

i am getting a file together on my ARC 500 for the pro 106 for the sevier county TN Area for a poss future trip


what is the status of VIPER on the state line over In NC?

I was in Gatlinburg a few months ago and I couldn't hear a thing VIPER wise, even from a cabin up on a mountain. The closest site to Sevier County would be the Cowee Bald site and I recall losing signal on 441 halfway between Cherokee & the TN line.

I wouldn't get my hopes up on catching anything VIPER in Sevier County, but it never hurts to do a Control-Channel only search in the 867-868 region to see what might turn up.

You can't hear the system, no site is close enough to monitor.
