Hello,

Maybe someone can help me with my programing my BC796D Uniden since rebanding.

First I live in Winston-Salem,NC and have the new Control Numbers programed.
Then I chose Plan 2 for my Control Channel Freqs.
I also renewed the Firmwire, BC_VUP_v2.0.0.7.

What it's doing is only getting part of the Police , very little anything else, partial EMS. The Sheriffs Dept. is not too active as it once was.

After checking the squelch, and all other settings the results are no improvement. I use ScanControl for the programing. I also live less than 1/2 mile from the tower so not anything like before the change. Thanks in advance for any assistance on finding the solution.

Did you install this as well?

In addition to applying the firmware fixes, Scan Control isn't smart enough, I think, to automatically add the custom tables to the data; you have to do it manually inside SC. You will need to set the system type to Type 2 Custom, then enter the data found in the table as shown;

Thanks For the reply's,

Yes, the Firmware was renewed, (UPDATED) as I stated. I also used type 2 for the CCO - Control Channel Only mode.
ScanControl has 4 choices..None, Type 1,2,3. Type 2 is my setting. I've tried all the Plans, None, 1,2,3. Plan 2 works the best and also is the one for the numbers listed for the System Freqs.

However, in Mike's Uniden link did you set the two rebanded band plans?
Manually set them in ScanControl.
For standard rebanded systems, you need to set Band Plan 1 and Band Plan 2 as:
Code:
[B]Base Freq (Lower) [/B][B]Base Freq (Upper) [/B][B]Offset [/B][B]Polarity [/B][B]Spacing [/B]
[B]1 [/B]851.0250MHz 854.0000MHz 440 + 25 kHz
[B]2 [/B]851.0125MHz 868.9875MHz 0 + 25 kHz

You have lost me now. There is no way to get to the "CUSTOM" settings or choice. Least I can't find the way to do it.

What you listed isn't the firmware. Did you install the file from the link I provided?

You have lost me now. There is no way to get to the "CUSTOM" settings or choice. Least I can't find the way to do it.
Then use scanner menu as follows.

  1. Select the Trunking Programming mode and the bank you want to change.
  2. Choose Motorola Type 2 Custom (TYPE2 CUSTOM) and press [E].
    • For a Type 2 system, choose "SELECT BASE CONF" then press [E].
    • The scanner displays "SELECT BASE CONF". Choose the Configuration Block Number (1 to 6), and press [E].
  3. Use [0]- [9] to enter a new Base (Lower) Frequency, then press [E]. The Upper Frequency is displayed.
  4. Use [0]- [9] to enter a new Upper Frequency, then press [E]. The Spacing Frequency is displayed.
  5. Use [0]- [9] to enter a new Spacing Frequency, then press [E].
Note: You can only enter within a range of 5 - 100 kHz, and 5 or 12.5kHz multiples.
  6. Use [0]- [9] to enter a new Offset Channel, then press [E]. The display changes for selecting the Polarity (PLUS).
Note: If a Base Frequency hasn't been set yet, the setting of Offset will not be accepted.
  7. Choose the Polarity (PLUS or MINUS).
  8. Press [E] to store the Polarity. The next configuration number is shown.
  9. Select the next Configuration Block Number (1 to 6), and press [E]. Then, repeat from step 4.
If this doesn't improve your coms, reset CC only to off and program the following 13 freqs.
851.2125
851.4250
851.6625
851.7125
851.9250
