I was just curious to find out what Richmond County dispatchs fire on?

I was down there last weekend and had the old 46.060 Mhz frequency programmed in my scanner and never heard anything.

I had the Uhf channels programmed in as well and got a couple of hits off 453,925mhz and 463.850 Mhz.

I picked up Station 7, I think is East Rockingham Ham Fire on 453.925 Mhz.

Please advise what the primary channel is

Thanks

David

I know those are listed in the data base. I thought they were just sort of tac channels for each department.

I was just curious to see if there was a common fire dispatch channel.

Seems like that would tie up a lot of dispatch console space and telecommunicators dispatching each fire department on different channels.

Also seems like that would be time consuming to try and dispatch all these departments for a major incident in the county.

Okay if each department listed is dispatched on their own licensed frquency. Then what frequency is the following departments dispatched on that don't have a channel.

Mountain Creek
Derby
East Rockingham
Cordova

I am just looking for information, so I will know what and how to program my scanner and/or two-way radios.

Thanks

I would contact a local radio shop, I agree that they look more like tac channels but I have no clue why they are listed as fire dispatch.

Actually the FCC database lists all of those channels as belonging to those departments, so they may be dispatched on those channels, who knows. I would still contact a local radio shop or try Richmond county 911(make sure you use the non emergency number)

Thanks!

I will have one of my Highway Patrol friends who works down there to do some digging for me.

Thanks

Here is how they are dispatched:

On 463.850:

Cordova Fire
East Rockingham Fire
Ellerbe Fire
Mountain Creek Fire

On 453.175:

Derby Fire
Northside Fire

On 453.925:

Hamlet Fire

On 453.875:

Rockingham Fire

Also, you should hear Derby Fire and Hoffman Fire go out on 46.060. I forgot to see which UHF freq Hoffman goes out on.

10-4 that is what I needed

Thanks I appreciate it.

Looks like they copied the same design from Hyde County.

They have a East, West, and Ocracoke Fire dispatch as well.
