System sounded great. I monitored from several parts of the county while running around for work.

More news a lot of testing going on today from cars to car and different locations thru-out the city
sounds like they are getting ready. Just monitored a tech say everything is a go for the non public safety radios returning to start the process of getting them on the air.

That would be Laura from Fayetteville and she has been up in our city today as Motorola and our shop has been assisting her with some template building.

Fayetteville's new P-25 is now becoming active with non-public safety talk groups.

Parks 1 if I have my info correct.
And again: When Fayetteville decides to switch over is entirely their decision.
I have not been given any specific date as my prime focus has been on getting all of
my Durham radios switched over to P25.
If I hear a specific date I will try to pass it along but please keep in mind Fayetteville
has their own well qualified radio maintenance staff that handles all of their radio needs.
They are just using a walled off slice of Durham's P25 core. Durham's responsibility ends
at making sure the core is operational. Fayetteville Subscriber units, Fayetteville Radio & Talkgroup IDs, and Fayetteville tower frequencies all fall under the responsibility of the Fayetteville radio maintenance staff and are totally separate from the Durham Subscriber units, Durham Radio & Talkgroup IDs, and Durham tower freqs.

I have updated the City of Durham P25 System to include the Fayetteville/Cumberland County shared core info. I ask everyone to read the misc text box which says:

Quote:
The City of Fayetteville/Cumberland County has entered into a 10 year contract with the City of Durham that allows Fayetteville/Cumberland County to use a partitioned portion of Durham's System Controller. This allows Fayetteville/Cumberland County to upgrade their system to P25 status without having to purchase their own system core. City of Durham is responsible for Durham city/county Tower sites/frequencies and Durham radios/talkgroups/radio IDs while Fayetteville/Cumberland County is responsible for Fayetteville Tower sites/frequencies and Fayetteville/Cumberland radios/talkgroups/radio IDs. Other than sharing a system ID of 5C9 the Durham & Fayetteville sites should be considered 2 separate systems as users are not normally allowed to roam between the 2 areas.
As new talkgroups are discovered I will update the database accordingly.

Are VIPER TG's going to be used as a backup, mutual aid, disaster, or what for Fayetteville/Cumberland County now?

TG 13791 very active on Fayetteville P25, sounds like Fayetteville State University has come online on the new system...

Marshall, can you verify?
