Default DMR in NC

With the new scanner developments in progress im sitting at the Petro in Mebane,
got my new RTL_SDR.com dongle and went hunting for DMR signals, there are quite a few out there
154.830 is a Capacity + System with a Color Code of 1 no traffic in the short time i could listen

155.775 is listed in the DB as Orange County, NC School Buses and that makes sense as they were talking about broke down buses and picking up kids.

155.535 Color Code 2 heard 10-4 10-8 clear on TG 10000 Radio ID's 250 for the mobile and 911 for the base

153.200

anyway if i had more time i would log more but got to roll, but there is a ton of VHF DMR out here looks like

Due to the upcoming DMR coverage in several scanners I am gonna stick this thread for a bit....let's try to keep ALL NC DMR content to this thread only.

Thank you for this Marshall, a very good idea.
I was wondering if anyone has tried to use the spreadsheet Paul Opitz put together (I can only imagine how busy he must be considering this latest release).
I've tried many times to run the spreadsheet for a 20 mile radius from my home here in Myrtle Grove or, if you're local, Monkey Junction and I just cannot get any results.
I'd really appreciate any help you might be able to offer.
TIA
John, Wilmington

About the only dmr here that I know of in Halifax county is rrpd Roanoke electric and Halifax electric and I believe hrmc may run limited dmr but they are licensed in Halifax county. Now I'm not sure about the unlicensed stuff. I'll have to play one day and see if I can't find others

There are three DMR systems here in Onslow that I know of.

A couple years ago, Jones-Onslow EMC and ONWASA (Onslow Water & Sewer Authority) switched over to DMR on their existing VHF conventional systems.

JOEMC has only a couple TGs on their stuff. ONWASA uses to different freqs, one is for voice, the other is for the GPS data from the vehicle fleet.

Onslow Memorial Hospital also uses DMR, but they have a single frequency, but appear to be operating in Capacity Plus Mode.

I'm sure there are more out there, we just have to find them.

I'm thinking (just an educated speculation) that some of the older SMRs and Community Repeater owners are using DMR in some places.....

Around here it's only Blue Ridge Electric Membership Co. and United Energy as far as I know.

One interesting thing that occurred to me with the Coke 600 coming up is that now I believe that you will be able to monitor NASCAR officials. I am almost positive they are DMR.

There's plenty of ham radio DMR statewide. Here in McDowell, a couple of VFDs are licensed for DMR but I don't think they are actually using it.

There is a lot of DMR in the triad.

Last I heard, Novant health uses DMR.
I think Hanes mall does too....

I know there is more, but that is all I can think of right now.

Correct. Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem has a Mototrbo system and Hanes Mall switched to DMR last year. Other DMR users in Winston-Salem include Wake Forest University PD & Security, Wells Fargo building downtown, & the Innovation Quarter (the former RJR Buildings 90 & 91). I suspect some of the hotels downtown also have DMR but not sure.

Default Far West NC DMR

We have two systems to look at a VHF Duke Energy system based out of Franklin NC and our new local Harrahs Valley River Casino UHF CAP+. Preliminary look at the casino shows nothing but encryption except for one hit in the clear yesterday morning. Still gathering data and knowledge on monitoring these systems.

There's a couple of ham repeaters over there, one in Hayesville, one in Franklin and one in the works in Murphy

Getting an indication of a con system down here in Wilmimgton. 860.0625, color code 8, slot 1. No comm's yet, but I'm still trying to figure this whole DMR thing out.
What a blast!

All of the NC PRN repeaters use TGID 27500 for the local talkgroup on slot 1. *Slot 2 only contains "PRN" (system-wide talkgroup), which is TGID 2. Other TGIDs on slot 1 include:

TAC310 (Nationwide) - 310 - Slot 1 (On-Demand)
TAC1 (Worldwide) - 8951 - Slot 1 (On-Demand)
DMRX BrandMeister (DCI Bridge 2) - 3100 - Slot 1 (On-Demand)
Echotest - 9998
Chat 1 (System-wide on-demand talk channel) - 27501 - Slot 1 (On-Demand)
Chat 2 (System-wide on-demand talk channel) - 27502 - Slot 1 (On-Demand)

* Time slot 2 also has another TG called "Clear Time Slot" which enables a user to release an on-demand TG that they requested in which they no longer desire to use. The TGID is 27000 and once keyed, it will release TS1 and allow other users to use other talkgroups on TS1. Otherwise, the on-demand talkgroups will time-out on their own in 15 minutes. This just ends the TOT and releases TS1 immediately.

All repeater owners reserve the right to add/remove any DMR-MARC talkgroup as they see fit, so some repeaters may differ from the standard setup. The Jacksonville repeater is set up exactly as described in this post.

The Jacksonville frequency is 441.8375 and like all other NCPRN repeaters, it uses Color Code 1.

Thanks Jimmy I will do some digging around for the freqs and give them a go. Haven't scanned the ham bands yet, but I will.

I'm picking up DMR in Winston-Salem on 450.875, Slot 2, Color 7 discussing the WS Cycling Classic Road Race in the Buena Vista area. According to Upman's Excel spreadsheet, there is no such frequency licensed in WS. Rental radios possibly?
