The site was taken out of service, due to Wayne County needing the space for their VHF trunking system.

To this date the state is still trying to find a suitable replacement site for re-construction.

The same thing happened with the Mint Hill site in Mecklenburg County.

The City/County decided the site was no longer needed so it was taken off-line.

The good thing is Viper was lucky to use the same frequencies and call sign and moved this site to the old

ATT tower in the Ridgecrest/Lambert communities is Stanly County.

Hope this helps

It's been marked "temp offline" for several years if I recall -- if it's true that the frequencies and callsign are now live in another county, that site should probably be removed by now.

I went ahead and removed it from the database listings.
