Wondering why I hear so little ( if any) traffic from Fayetteville PD. Monitoring with BCD996P2 having programmed from RRDB with the TG's and WFNC, TWC,Slocomb,Cedar Creek sites. Have been looking through this forum for indication of encryption or other reasons for silence, but hearing(seeing) none.

Others having this experience ?

Thanks !

If it was encrytped you would still hear a bunch of jumbling
I catch the occasional Sheriff's Office private channel and its so annoying I took off the scanner

Fayetteville is on their own system shared with Durham, make sure you're listening to that. You're only going to hear the county on VIPER.

Sorry so late responding ! Been in Atlanta playing Santa and Grandpa ! Thanks for the response trumpetman. I imported the Durham/Fayetteville system( the Fayetteville site and talkgroups) but still hear very little from the Fay PD. Have been within a stone's throw from traffic accidents and heard nothing from responding officers. Just seems as though they are using another mode of communication I do not know about.
Thanks again !

Yes, all these TGs were imported from RRDB and uploaded to the scanner. Not all that information was included in the import; however, TG ID,alpha tag, and digital audio were included.
Also, not sure where the site is located but am monitoring from Bragg Blvd near MLK loop, so don't think I should be having issues with signal strength

Yes, the download from RRDB has system type as P25 auto

This is probably a dumb question. But is the antenna on all the way? I ask because few months ago I programmed a scanner for a friend and while I had it it was picking up fay pd. Anyway way he brought it back saying it wasn't working turns out he had taken the antenna off and when he put it back on the BNC connector was loose.

This problem has occurred with several Uniden scanners, over a 3 month period. BCD996P2 and BCD536P2. Have heard very little PD traffic with any of them. Hear everything else fine. Will try an outdoor antenna and report my findings.
Thanks

Well, problem solved ! Turns out that replacing the telescope antenna at back of the scanner with a magnet mount did the trick. Hearing Fay PD all day . What a relief !!! Do not understand why I could monitor the other sites in the county with the provided antenna, but I am happy now. Thanks to all who helped with this
