Pager News Services

Ok folks;
Going for a throwback here. Does any recall back in the day when we rocked pagers how we used to be able to get like news alerts and stuff? Like the old Datacast services? Does anyone know if they still exist? Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

IPN and 1st responder wireless news are both pager services still around

BNN--Breaking News Network is Still Alive and Well--Pager Notification went Offline around 2009-2010--now its cell phone notification--Funny Thing is I Still Have the BNN Beeper for Nestalgia

I still have a bnn pager but it's out of service, there's honestly no reason for me to carry a pager since they have an app with push notifications. Although they seem to have gone downhill over last few years with incident coverage. I do like the citizen NYC app and it covers more on a local level but unfortunately it's locked onto a location type service so if you're not near you won't get the notification unless you manually log into the app.
