hey guys does any one know of a good 800 ant for this scanner. i want to get the best reception i can i still have some vhf systems in my area. my location is is butler county so I'm listen to hamilton county and the 800 mhz systems in butler county.

You should get the Radio Shack 800mhz antenna to replace the stock rubber duckie. It works very well on 800 mhz and does a great job on vhf-hi and UHF too. A search on the forums will show that many users have had excellent results with this antenna.

I have the Radio Shack 800MHz antenna and its like night and say compared to using the stock. I also have a Diamond RH77CA I got from R&L electronics in Hamilton. It's also a very good antenna.

ok thanks for the help you guys both gave good sugestion i will go to radio shack an get the 800 mhz ant.
i might look at the diamond one also.

The Diamond antenna is outstanding on VHF-Hi and UHF. On 800 mhz, its just so-so.
