Huron fire dispatch is now dispatching the following departments for fire/rescue squad; city of Huron, Margaretta twp Fire, Groton Fire, Bayview Fire. Each department wil be dispatched on their current frequencies from huron dispatch (Huron fd 453.575) and Margaretta,Groton,Bayview (453.125). This is in place as we speak and has been confirmed. Why would the City of Huron be doing this and not Erie County?

I thought they were going to build some kind of joint dispatch center?

Actually. Margaretta fire did their own dispatching and groton fire as well as bayview. I'm assuming they have lost funding and had to downsize personnel, in turn losing dispatchers as well as other full time employees. Unknown why huron fire/police got picked as dispatch for all departments, possibly due to radio capabilities already in place and full time dispatcher. sd
