I have scanning Cuyahoga County and have heard nothing from the Parma Project 25. Is this system in use or inactive?

The Parma system uses non-standard tables. If you're using the Pro-96 or Pro-2096, you'll have to enter the table manually. Other recent scanners should pick up these non-standard tables automatically.

Yep. WIth a PRO96/2096 you must enter the 9600 table manually. Once you do that, you will find that the Project 25 system is quite active:)

I believe that the Parma FD is on the p-25 system. The PD was on it for awhile but switched back. Not sure why but I did here PD traffic on the EDACS system this week

Parma and Brooklyn Fire have switched back to EDACS. The P25 system experienced growing pains and had to be taken offline.

Growing pains???

It seems like it's taking a really long time to work out whatever issues they have. If I am not mistaken the project started in the last quarter of 2007. Currently they have only set up a hand full of talk groups.

I still hear Brooklyn Fire on the P25 as well as Parma's Jail, also occasional Parma Aux PD traffic.

Just curious, does anyone know why Parma decided to do there own P25. Did they connsider moving to the MARC's system? MARC's is already pretty well built out and in use in Cuyahoga County.

These might help answer your question...

It looks like Parma's P-25 system will likely become the system that ALL suburbs in Cuyahoga County use in the future...And since several other area trunked systems will also be changing over to P-25 (including MARCS), I would expect all of these systems to be "tied" together once they've switched over...

Expect A LOT of changes to take place over the next 5 years in this area.

Thanks for providing the links, they give some background. But, they don't tell the whole story.

I don't want to get way off topic of this Thread, so I'll create a new one regarding State owned (MARCS) vs. Local owned (Parma P25).
