Looking for Randolph Fire frequency , I am aware that Stow Fire is dispatching them but I have not heard a peep out of them ,I know they are busier thn that.
I just have a regular scanner not shure what you mean by pl .
I live in Ellet I can hear departments like chippewa in Doylestown and so far I hear Brimfield to the east and Stow to the north Hartville and North Canton as far as 800 on the Green or south Summit ,no fire calls, during the winter I heard the plows.
Just have 2 uniden 50 channels one in the car and one at the house both with the antenas that came with the scanner
I was picking up Randolph Fire from downtown Kent last nite on 154.130. Man, living in Summit County you should really get yourself a digital scanner. There's so much action that your missing out on with just an analog scanner.
Not knowing what type scanner your are using .. but at some point after you enter 154.13 for Randolph .. you need to enter 151.4 for the CTCSS tone, that is specific to Randolph for frequency 154.13. See the database chart for Portage Fire for all the CTCSS tones that correspond to 154.13
If he has an old conventional analog scanner, it may not have PL/CTCSS tones. Since he said that his scanners are only 50 channels, this is probably the case. He should consider an upgrade to a digital scanner. With MARCS and Summit County's Countywide system being digital, there is a lot of action being missed.
